Visit to Hasami Town
Visit to Hasami First day: August 26, 2024 I am a student at Nagasaki Junior College, and on August 26, I visited a pottery manufacturing factory in Hasami Town, which has a history of about 400 years. Below are my impressions and experiences there.
Factory tour When I saw pottery being made in Sri Lanka, I saw it being made by hand without the aid of machines. However, in Japan, it was the first time I saw pottery being made using machines.
They also use machines to make molds that enhance the beauty of the products, which I felt was a very efficient process. I was surprised that this method saves a lot of time and effort, while still producing a large amount of products. I wondered how we could work in a place like this without the sounds of machines. I was able to see this for myself thanks to this tour.
Pizza Making Afterwards, we went to a pizza making place in Japan and had the opportunity to actually make pizza. On the way there, we saw banana trees, which are common in Sri Lanka, and were surprised to see banana trees for the first time since coming to Japan.
It was my first time to see how pizza is made, and I was able to learn how pizza is made step by step, from preparing the dough, which was a very valuable experience. The young couple who were there with me explained in detail the small details that I didn't understand, so it was easy to understand. Also, the pizza was very delicious.
Pottery making Afterwards, we went back to the pottery factory and experienced pottery making. I felt very lucky to be able to make pottery in Japan for the first time in my life. One thing I realized was how useful machines are, because making pottery by hand is very hard and hurts your hands.
I made a cup. It was my first time making pottery, but with the help of the staff, I was able to complete a beautiful piece. After everything was finished, we all went home feeling satisfied.
