Craft Kyushu | A report from an international student living in Kyushu about the real experiences and excitement of traditional crafts

SHIN MON THANT
Hasami Monodukuri Experience
I participated in the Hasami training for three days. Although it was a short time, it was a very enjoyable and valuable experience.

On the first day, we visited a pottery factory. I was impressed by the way the craftsmen worked so diligently. I learned things I didn't know before, so it was a very educational experience.

On the second day, we all made pizza together. We rolled out the dough, topped it with vegetables and cheese, and baked it. The pizza we made ourselves was especially delicious, and we all had a great time together.

On the third day, we went to the Hasami Museum. We saw old pottery and tools and learned about Hasami's history. We also gained a deeper understanding of its culture.

We also made tea bowls during our hands-on learning. It was a little difficult to create the shape, but the teacher kindly taught us and we were able to finish it well.

The most enjoyable part of the three days was the all-you-can-eat lunch I had with my friends. I was able to try a variety of different dishes and felt very happy.

The people of Hasami were all kind, the teachers were friendly, and the driver was polite and helpful. I also got along well with my friends, so it was a really enjoyable training session.

The three days went by in a flash, but it was a very fulfilling and unforgettable experience. I'm really glad I was able to participate.
